Interesting Information:

The Times Picayune August 8th in Nola section had a very good readable articles  titled "Being Overweight Is More Dangerous Than You Think"

They listed Cancer as number one. There are 13 cancers associated with excess weight. Inflammation, reflux and heartburn are also linked. (Downer)

Mood, which includes depression and other mental health are associated with excessive weight.(Downer)

Sleep Apnea which can make it harder to lose weight because the body has to work harder and doesn't have the chance it needs to repair itself. (Downer)

They suggest 3 things the same 3 things we have heard from Laurie on Wednesday morning, #1 Be Mindful, give yourself a break, pay attention to your WHY. Ask yourself Am I hungry?, Bored with life? Unhappy with my situation ? Hate my Job? We eat to stay alive and be healthy.

#2Eliminate added sugars, when we eat sugars we crave more sugars. They are sneaky, honey, agave, coconut sugars organic cane syrup, molasses, maple syrup and all other those chemical names from the factories. Some is okay but they are in everything.

#3Include physical activities, try walk and talk with a friend, reset your daily routines , this is the one i am working to achieve. after 75 years of no activities this is new to me. I have a bounce in my walk these days. Just Amazing and it it is all to my WW family and Leaders and Go FREESTYLE.



New Recipe:  Ruben Lettuce Wrap 4 points per roll.


4 cabbage leaves softened
2 Tbs spoons of FF Thousand Island Dressing
4 slices low fat swiss cheese
24 thin slices of turkey pastrami
2 cups shredded cabbage

divide all into 4 servings wrap them up in the cabbage leaves.
